The Renaissance Festival 2008

What a great Saturday! We had such a wonderful time as a family yesterday.

We drove out to Shakopee and went to the Renaissance Festival. It was a beautiful day... may be 80' at the most and a nice cool breeze flowed all day.

We ate some great food. We had chic. wild rice soup in a bread bowl, turkey leg, smoothies, chocolate on a stick :), kettle corn, lemonade, and choc. chip cookies!

Myles and Ashley both took a try on the climbing wall (tower). Myles went first and started on the easy side.. he was up that wall in about 10 seconds so they let him try again on a more difficult angle... he made it up again on the 2nd to the hardest side. Ashley had her first time on the climbing wall and did awesome! I was so proud of her. She didn't get scared or discouraged at all.. she just kept climbing and when she got to the top she honked the horn like 10 times... the people at the bottom were just chuckling because they knew how excited she was ;)

Mike and Myles tried some archery. We watched the performers dance and the juggling act.

The man juggling was amazing! We did go watch the Jousting for awhile.. but Addi decided to take a face plant off of her stroller seat... right into the dirt. A mouth full of dirt was no fun for her. Her forehead, nose and upper lip are all scratched up. She however, is resilient and was up and running in no time. We got to see the strolling turtle and it's baby :)

We walked through the petting zoo, and the kids rode on some rides.

Myles bought a kite on a stick. Ashley bought a princess hat.. one of those tall ones that come to a point w/ beautiful ribbons hanging down and also a wand :) both purple of course.

Addi wanted a umbrella. :)

We also ran into a very pretty fairy who gave the kids their own little crystal stones... Myles saw that she had dropped a few and ran to give them back and in return she reached in and took out a special stone as a way of thanking him. :)

Ashley and Addi both made wands... during which time Addi decided to pee on the bench and all over my skirt :) Yae! What better thing to do than run to the "privies" and try to maneuver around in the port a potties. YUCK.

That was the only low point. We drove home and Mike went right to mowing the lawn and we hung out outside and had a bonfire last night. A perfect ending to a great day.

Thank you Lord!
